Lina: The Chalk Hero is a story and learning app for children from kindergarten to third grade. Your child follows Lina, who turns into the superhero Lumina with her magic chalk, and practises reading, writing and listening along the way, with no ads and no internet.
Coloured syllables (the German first-reader method) and clapping games break long words into easy parts, which makes beginning readers more confident.
Trace letters like on a blackboard, first single letters, then first words such as the hero's name.
Every line is read aloud, in German or English. Great for children who can't read everything yet, and for hearing a second language through play.
A new school, being left out at break, a little lie: the stories pick up real feelings of school children and show how courage, friendship and honesty help.

The app doesn't replace school, but it practises what children are learning there through play: writing letters, clapping syllables and reading words in coloured syllables.

None. The app does not collect, store, transmit or sell any personal data, from children or from adults. In particular:
Progress (episodes played, stars, stickers, hero colours, language and settings) is stored only locally on the device. We have no access to it. Deleting the app removes it completely.
Episode 1 is free. More episodes can be bought in the Parent Area, which is protected by a parental gate. Purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store or by Google Play and are subject to Apple's privacy policy or Google's privacy policy. We receive no personal data, only an anonymous confirmation that a purchase is valid on this device.
The app is made for the App Store Kids category and Google Play's Families programme. Because we collect no data, no data from children is collected, used or shared. Purchases, ratings and any links out of the app are only reachable in the Parent Area behind a parental gate.
