A maths story in eight chapters for children aged 5 to 9: counting, sums and writing numbers, with a finger and chalk.
Lina calls little Zero "nothing". Zero rolls away, and the other nine run after her. Before the lake-festival countdown tonight, Lina has to bring them all back, and learns how to say sorry properly.

With Oma's star chalk, Lina becomes Lumina. In the Parent Area you can choose Lino instead, who becomes Lumino. The same story, each hero with their own voice.

Ten little chalk creatures, the digits 0 to 9. Each one has a mind of its own and hides somewhere in Sonnwil. Chalk marks on the ground give away who is where.

Loves to be first in line. Then climbs down from the sofa one rung at a time after all.

Hides in the bakery's croissant basket, licking her lips. Somebody's nibbling in here!

Sits high up on the hand of the station clock, trembling. Lumina gets her down.

The smallest of all, yet without her there is no ten. In the castle tower she waits until Lina tells her something important.
Between the pictures, your child picks up the chalk. Every line is read aloud, in German or English. No timer, and after three tries the app lends a hand.

Two marks and three marks: Two and Three are hiding in there.

Which number is missing? Your child writes it into the gap with a finger.

How many more ducks need to get on the boat? Small sums and differences, with pictures to count.

At the bakery and the market: circle coins until the price is right. In francs, euros, pounds or dollars.

The train leaves at four. Your child draws the hands on the station clock.

Draw triangles, circles and rectangles and continue patterns until the market stall stands again.

Point by point with a finger, and Lina becomes Lumina. Your child writes numbers the same way, stroke by stroke.

Counting with your hands: one clap for every syllable. The German text shows syllables in colour; you can turn that off in the Parent Area.
Lina and the Number Pals practises what children learn in kindergarten and the first school years (the Swiss Lehrplan 21, cycle 1). The tasks grow harder as your child gets better, and everything is read aloud, so no reading is needed yet.
Counting objects, reading tally marks, writing the digits 0 to 9, number rows forwards and backwards.
Small sums and differences, finding missing numbers and filling the ten-frame up to ten.
Paying with coins and setting full hours on the clock, right in the middle of the story.
Drawing triangles, circles and rectangles, spotting and continuing patterns, clapping syllables.
Lina and the Number Pals works entirely without internet and without an account. What your child plays stays on the device.
Chapters 2 to 8 and the whole practice corner come with one one-time purchase.
For children aged 5 to 9, from kindergarten to second grade. Everything is read aloud, so children who can't read yet enjoy it too.

Counting, writing digits, small sums and differences, number rows, tally marks, money, telling the time, shapes and patterns, and the ten-frame. It doesn't replace school, but it practises the same things through play.
Yes. In the Parent Area you choose Lina, who becomes Lumina, or Lino, who becomes Lumino. The app speaks German and English, each with its own voices.
In short: Lina and the Number Pals collects no data. The app is made for children aged 5 to 9 and works entirely offline.

None. The app does not collect, store, transmit or sell any personal data, from children or from adults. In particular:
Progress (Number Pals found, chapters played, task difficulty) and settings (Lina or Lino, language, currency, coloured syllables) are stored only locally on the device, not in iCloud. We have no access to them. Deleting the app removes everything completely.
Chapter 1 is free. The other chapters and the practice corner can be unlocked with one one-time purchase in the Parent Area, which is protected by a parental gate. The purchase is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store and is subject to Apple's privacy policy. We receive no personal data, only an anonymous confirmation that a purchase is valid on this device.
Because we collect no data, no data from children is collected, used or shared. Purchases, settings and any links out of the app are only reachable in the Parent Area behind a parental gate.
Since we process no personal data, there is nothing for us to disclose, correct or delete. For any privacy question (Swiss FADP, GDPR, COPPA) you can reach us at any time at the email address above. If you email us, we use your address only to reply.
If anything in this policy changes, we update this page and the date at the top.
